They also gave her a Depo Medrol injection for inflammation. The day after the steroid injection she peed quite a bit in her sleep. For the last two weeks since the injection she’s been leaking around the house, drinking a lot more water, panting, and occasionally peeing in her sleep. I asked the vet and they said the steroid should be contained to her eye and shouldn’t be a cause of the urinary problems, but I find that hard to believe. Her blood work and urinalysis were fine. I did put her on 2mg of Incurin daily, but so far it hasn’t helped. Janie, OMG, I just read you adviced someone not to vaccinate their older dog or use chemical flea and products. What’s the alternative?I just vaccinated my 13 1/2 yr old Maltese with the flea and ticks shot! Also, my original question on here was about the use of corticosteroids. She weighs 5 lbs and the vet just put her on a short term treatment of steroids because she has problems breathing. She’s hemorrhage’s through her nose on several occasions, and he says the X rays on her chest are not normal but worrisome. I’ve known him for a very long time, and I trust him.
